Privacy Policy

1) Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Task List collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Android app (available on Google Play), the web application, and related services.

2) Information We Collect

Consistent with our Google Play Data safety disclosure, Task List may collect personal information needed to run the app. In practice this includes:

• Account information — such as your email address for authentication and synchronization (via Firebase Authentication).
• Task content you create — titles, descriptions, categories (including To-do, Shopping, Personal, Secret, Work, and Others), favorites, and related settings.
• Reminders — date/time schedules you set for notifications (delivered as phone notifications on Android when enabled).
• Preferences — such as theme (dark or light) and other in-app settings.

We do not use your data for advertising. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are not stored directly by Task List.

3) How We Use Information

Your information is used only to provide app functionality: account access, task storage and synchronization, category organization (including Secret/PIN-protected tasks), reminders and notifications, offline sync recovery, search and filtering, theme preferences, and account-related support (including reset and delete).

4) Authentication and Security

Account authentication is managed through Firebase Authentication. Task List does not directly store your account password. Industry-standard authentication and security protections are used to help protect your account and sessions. As disclosed on Google Play, data is encrypted in transit.

5) Task Data Protection

Task data is stored using secure Firebase-backed infrastructure (authentication and database services). Additional safeguards may apply to sensitive or protected task categories (such as Secret) to reduce accidental exposure. Task content is protected, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

6) Secret Categories and PIN Protection

Users can protect sensitive tasks by creating Secret categories secured with a PIN. The PIN is stored only on the user's device in encrypted form and is used to unlock and access protected category tasks. Users can change their Secret category PIN at any time. To remove PIN protection from a Secret category, account password verification is required for additional security.

7) Offline Usage and Synchronization

Task List supports offline usage. Tasks and changes created while offline are automatically synchronized when an internet connection becomes available again.

8) Sharing and Disclosure

Aligned with our Google Play Data safety declaration: we do not share your personal information or task data with third parties for advertising, profiling, or marketing. We do not sell your data.

Core infrastructure providers (such as Firebase) process data solely to operate authentication, storage, and sync for the app.

9) Data Retention

Your information remains associated with your account while the account is active. You may reset your stored app data or permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from the application settings, as noted in the Play Store listing and this policy. You can request that data be deleted through those in-app controls.

10) User Controls

You can manage reminders, categories (including Secret with PIN), favorites, theme (dark/light), protected content, and account-related actions (reset tasks or delete account) directly from within the application. Some actions, including account reset and account deletion, require an active internet connection.

11) Children's Privacy

Task List is not intended for children under the age of 13. If you believe personal information belonging to a child has been submitted to the app, please contact us so appropriate action can be taken.

12) Privacy Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect feature updates, legal requirements, or changes to data practices. The latest version will always be available on this page.

13) Reset Account Data

Verified registered users can permanently remove all tasks and app-related data without deleting their account.

Resetting your account only removes stored data associated with the app. Your account will remain active, and you can continue using the application normally.

Steps to reset account data:

1. Login to the application
2. Go to the Settings tab
3. Scroll down to "Reset Account"
4. Click on it
5. A confirmation modal will appear. Type Reset in the text field
6. Click on "Yes"
7. After successful reset, a confirmation message will appear indicating that your tasks and app data have been removed
8. You will remain logged into the application and can continue adding new tasks or data

Make sure your internet connection is enabled while performing these steps.

Reset actions permanently remove stored tasks and related app data and cannot be undone.

14) Delete Account

Verified registered users can permanently delete their account together with all associated tasks and app data.

Account deletion is available through both the mobile application and the web application. Once deletion is completed, the account and associated data cannot be recovered.

Steps to delete your account from the mobile application:

1. Login to the application
2. Go to the Settings tab
3. Scroll down to "Delete Account"
4. Click on it
5. A confirmation modal will appear. Enter your password to confirm deletion
6. Click on "Yes"
7. After successful deletion, a confirmation message will appear
8. You will be logged out of the application and redirected to the login screen

Steps to delete your account from the web application:

1. Login to the web application
2. Open the Settings page from the header menu
3. Go to "Delete Account"
4. Enter your account password to confirm deletion
5. Confirm the deletion request

Make sure your internet connection is enabled while performing these steps.

We do not retain deleted user account data after the deletion process is completed.
